The great debate...

Okay people, I am enlisting the help of all mom's or really anyone with an opinion. I am at the point that I am looking into what kind of diaper bag I want to use. Of course, like many other aspects of pregnancy and motherhood, I have no idea what to look for or what I will need. Below are some possibilities that I like, but I don't know if they are practical ideas or just stylish.

This one is from Dwell Studio. I am pretty sure I want a big bag so that I can keep lots of things in it,as well as any and all school books or things that I may need to put in it.

This one is from skip hop. They have different colors but I think this is the bag that I liked the best from their website.

Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Erin

Walk like a.....penguin??

Yesterday I asked Noah to walk behind me during our walk together to check and see if I "waddle" when I walk. The conversation went something like this:

Me: Will you walk behind me and see if I am starting to get the "pregnant waddle"?

Noah: Okay?.?.?

Me: (As I am strutting my stuff for him) Well, what do you think?

Noah: I don't think so.

Me: Are you sure? You can tell me. It won't hurt my feelings and I won't get mad. (Yeah right!)

Noah: Nope, no waddle.

Me: (As I turn around I notice a huge grin on Noah's face. I am thinking there is something he was holding back telling me!)

Basketball diaries...

While walking through Home Depot this afternoon, proudly wearing my Oklahoma women's basketball t-shirt, a very nice woman looked at me and started laughing. I wasn't 100% sure she was laughing at me, but she was looking right at me and my t-shirt and cracking herself up. She said, "Don't you find it ironic that you are wearing a basketball t-shirt and it looks like you swallowed a basketball?!?!". I of course give her a fake courtesy laugh and try to walk quickly down a different isle but she kept at it. "Well, maybe its more like a volleyball right now, but it will get to a basketball." HaHaHaHaHa (that is her little annoying laugh.)

It is one thing when you hear something like that from people you know, but a complete stranger saying I look like I just swallowed a basketball takes a lot of guts in my opinion. Oh well, maybe she is right. Hopefully this little "basketball" that I have swallowed will come out and be quite the basketball player and go on to make millions of dollars that he can one day share with his mom. I can always hope!

30 or so week check up...

Yesterday I had an appointment with the Dr. and everything is looking good. The doc said his heartbeat is great, my blood pressure was 100/60, and I actually lost 2 pounds. I don't really know how that happened, but the doctor said that she was not too concerned. Noah was in the room and he mentioned to the doctor that he was concerned that Cash may be too small, keep in mind that Noah wants a 9 pound baby, so the doctor scheduled an ultrasound during our next appointment. So....in 2 weeks we get to see the size of our baby boy! We are super excited, especially Noah because he hasn't had a chance to see his son since our 12 week ultrasound. I can't wait to see how big he is and see a recent picture of him.

I was instructed by the doctor to increase the amount of protein that I eat and to maybe indulge in a Braum's milkshake. I mean, those are the doctors orders so I have to go with what she says. I think I will indulge in that milkshake tonight!

Baby shower in Houston...

This weekend in Houston my awesome sister-in-law Angie and great friend Casey threw me a baby shower to the stars. These two girls do not miss one single detail and I could not have asked for a more perfect shower. Everything was planned to perfection and they know the best way to my heart: ICE CREAM! As you can see from the pics, there was an ice cream bar, cupcakes, coconut punch...just about everything you could ask for. Noah came at the very beginning of the shower to see everyone and to say thank you for all of the wonderful gifts that we got (well...he also ate some ice cream). Here are some pictures from the shower taken by the oh so fabulous Casey!

This was the only guy who was secure enough in himself to stay for the shower. This is Carter and he was a sweet angel during the whole thing. He didn't make one single peep (hint..hint..Take some notes Cash.)

By the way, I could be the worst person in the world at opening presents in front of people. I make the most awful faces and am horrible at trying to act surprised. If you have been or are coming to a shower, please accept my apologies now for my awkward faces.

This is me and one of the hostest with the mostest Angie.
This is the other hostest with the mostestCasey or Aunt CiCi as she will be known.

Thank you so much to Casey and Angie for all of the hard work and detail you put into the shower. It was perfect and I had an amazing time. To all who attended, thank you so much for coming and for your incredibly thoughtful gifts. Noah and I appreciate it more than you know!
Thank you again,
Noah, Erin and Cash

Finals are O-V-E-R...

I apologize for the extended hiatus! I have been in the middle of finals week and have been studying non-stop. But now that finals are over I am able to catch back up on the blogging. A lot has been going on and this is my chance to fill in the blanks on the last few weeks.

Where to begin... oh yeah, I failed my 1-hour glucose test! Talk about a terrible feeling. I was actually pretty upset about that, but probably more confused. I asked the Dr. about it and she told me that the only thing that she could come up with was maybe be body just wasn't able to produce the insulin that I need it to to control my glucose levels. So, I had a long talk with my body (especially my pancreas because it is the organ that is supposed to produce the insulin) and after a nice 3 hour trip to the lab, with 4 puncture wounds (which made me look like a drug addict 2 days later because of the bruises) I passed the 3-hour test with flying colors. I celebrated with ice cream :)

Let's see what else... I have finally gotten around to taking pics of his bedding after I was informed that my previous pictures were not big enough. So here is the up close and personal picture of baby Cash's bedding.

His daddy is convinced that he is going to be a golfing-cowboy, so we went with the cowboy theme for his nursery.

I also took pictures of some of the clothes that he has gotten so far and let me just tell you that this boy has more Polo outfits than Ralph Lauren himself. Thanks to his aunts (CoCo and Ashley or Courtney and Ashley as I call them) this kid is going to be dressed sensible and not like a hooligan. The first outfit is one of Noah's favorites because the belt has little golfers on it. Super cute.

How adorable are these shoes?? I can't wait to see him in them.

These next outfits are from his Aunt CiCi (which is Casey) who lives in Houston and bought these for him the weekend we found out we were having a boy. The one the right has little guitars on it. I mean his name is Cash.
This outfit if from his Aunt Kassie. She lives right down the street from us and is going to be one of my go-to babysitters!
These shoes are from his mommy, who found them at a second-hand store in Houston. Now he and I have matching Sperry boat shoes!
My photographer from my wedding, Aaron Snow, called me one day and told me that he was having a garage sale and sellling all of his sons old clothes. He told me that he saved all of the Polo outfits for us because he knows how much Noah loves Polo. These are the clothes that he saved for me that he thought we would like.

My good friend Caton, who is overseas serving as a Doctor (she makes me so proud), sent Cash some pee-pee tee pees! I love them and laughed so hard when I saw them. I have already thought about the number of times that he will probably pee on me! She also got him an adorable little bird box that I plan on keeping little sentimental things in.

These last pics are of his little boots that I got him at a second-hand store and of Duke the dog guarding Cash's room. Noah and I have trained him to not go in the nursery, so he just sits outside the door and guards his room for him.
