There is no other word beside...

LAZY!!

There really is no excuse why I haven't updated this thing with pictures and more posts, other than the fact that I must be truly lazy. I have loved spending the past week and a half with family and friends and not having to worry about a paper being due or a test that I have to negate and ignore everyone and everything to study for. I love it. I love the freedom to sit on the couch or the bed in my pajamas with my sweet boys and not have to rush around to leave the house by 6:45 a.m. to make it to school on time. I love that I get to sit down and finish things on my to do list. I mean I really love this!

I will get pics posted and more info posted to this little blog once I decide to get my lazy butt up and stop eating ice cream and cookies and milk in bed...

Hey, someone had to eat the leftover cookies we made for Santa. But I bet when Santa ate the cookies he didn't leave a bunch of crumbs on his pajamas or in the bed.

Until the next post (whenever that will be...)

I'm only about a month behind...

How in the world did I get so behind? I know I was in finals, but come on.

Let's see... a recap of what all has gone on and the pictures to follow.

1. Cash stayed in an entirely other state for 4 days during my finals week. We missed him terribly, but it was a perfect chance for his family that lives in Texas to get to spend some quality time with him.

2. Noah's precious "Biboo" passed away at the age of 93. It was technically his great aunt, but he really only knew her as his beloved grandma. We were fortunate enough to travel to Houston for the funeral but we were not able to get down there in time to say our goodbyes (which I know really bothers Noah)

3. Cash had his 4 month checkup and everything is going great. He is 26 inches long and 16.8 pounds. She said he is growing just like he should and is a bit ahead of the game as far as sitting up by himself.

4. Cash had his first Christmas, with both families, and ate every piece of wrapping paper or tissue paper he could find. That kid is so funny...

5. Cash went to his first ever cookie decorating party and slept through the entire thing. I can't say that I blame him. If I couldn't eat a cookie I sure as heck wouldn't want to watch a bunch of people eating them in front of me.

6. Cash got his very own personalized, hand made leather belt for Christmas. (Picture to come)

7. Cash got his first ever head cold. BOO!!!

8. Cash got permission from the doctor to eat cereal at oatmeal from a bowl. He didn't so much care for that. But tonight I gave him green beans and there was not a drop on his bib. He is for sure his daddy's kid.

I'm sure there is much more that I left out and I will post pics once I get them uploaded to my computer. That should be within the next day or two.

Love,
Erin

Hi...

Hi.

My name is Erin.

I used to blog on this site.

I will again... in approximately 2 days... after my finals.

See you then.

Oh and I don't know if I have mentioned this yet, but I detest finals week.

Okay, bye.

Thunder up...

Noah and I got great tickets to the Thunder vs. Rockets basketball game a few weeks ago (a special thank you to Ms. Lynne and Austin). Noah and I made a date night out of it and went to dinner before and thent o the game. We had a great time and enjoyed each others company so much. I love spending time with my family, but I also really love spending time with just my husband sometimes.
Even Cash got in the Thunder spirit... Thunder Thighs!!!

A word of advice to my precious baby boy...

Crack kills!

A Thanksgiving to remember...

Over Thanksgiving, we went to Leander, TX to spend some time with all of Noah's family. This was the first time Cash was able to meet his extended family on the Allen side. We started to trip off leaving around 5:00 in the afternoon. We drove to Ft. Worth and stayed the night in a hotel. This was Cash's first road trip and he did marvelous. He slept the entire way to Ft.Worth, which I expected to happen, but that would also prove to be a small problem when it came time for bed. Because he slept for 3 hours right before his bedtime, he was not exactly on his normal schedule. He did surprisingly well that night and only woke up once! (Atta boy.) The next morning we woke up and started the last leg of our drive to Leander. Again, Cash slept the whole way and was a bit off of his normal nap times. But oh well, what do you do?

The next morning Noah, his Papaw, and I woke up and drove to Round Rock Donuts. This place has been on Man vs. Food (and Noah and I love that show) so we made this stop a must. They are famous for their 1 pound donut and wouldn't you know it, we just had to get it! We took a picture of Cash next to the donut just to give you an idea of how big this donut actually was...

There was also a very special guest that came to visit all of the little kids. A man ya'll may know as Santa Claus! That's right. He made a special trip to Leander, TX to find out what all of the kids wanted for Christmas. I'm not sure exactly what Cash told him, my guess is not much, but if I had to make a wild guess I would say maybe a big bottle of milk. I am not sure if anything would make him happier. Here are some pics of Cash with his new buddy Santa.

For some reason, Cash always looks confused...

This is Cash with his cousin Owen. They are pretty much going to best of friends!

Terrible, Awful, No good, Very bad day...

Well, maybe I am exaggerating a bit. But it really was quite a rough day.

Today I stopped pumping. Not by choice. I just couldn't keep up with my little man and my body just wasn't in the mood to make anymore milk I guess. I sat and pump for over 20 minutes and only pumped about 2 ounces total. Boo.

I know it is not the end of the world, but I really was upset by this. I wanted to be able to give Cash what he needed and provide milk for him for a much longer time. With trying to pump in the morning before school (around 5:00 a.m.) around lunch (which gets harder and harder as the semester goes on because of my classes and frequent group meetings) and when I get home (around 6:00) I was just not getting to pump as often as I needed. The easy thing to do is to blame it on the fact that I "just didn't have enough time" to pump like I needed to, but the truth is I feel like a failure. I feel lousy and lazy. I feel selfish. I feel... well I feel about 20 different emotions.

I knew this day was coming. I haven't been able to make as much as I would like for about a month now, but I was just not willing to face the inevitable. I came to terms with it, shed some tears, had a pity party for 1, and decided to move on. There are far too many things that are happening in our lives to dwell on this. I put it in perspective and realized that this is by far not the worst thing in the world. So... I put on my big girl panties and dealt with it. This doesn't mean that I still don't get a little upset when I have to make Cash a formula bottle or when I think back to our late night/early morning feedings I don't get sad. It just means that this is a step that we have grown out of and it is time to move on.

I hope it's as easily done as said.

Family photos...

About a month ago we had an awesome photographer (Aubrey Marie) take some family pics of my entire family. I can't remember a time when my dad, mom, brother, and me took a picture together professionally. She did a great job!
Without further adieu:

Of course baby Cash gets his very own photo shoot...

Contrary to what you see in the pictures, I feel the need to clear up a few things:

1. Cash really is a happy baby. I know he doesn't seem like it in the photos, but all the kid does is smile.

2. He is growing hair...slowly. He looks bald in a few of the pictures but he is trying and is still proudly rocking the scullet.

3. I told you guys he wants to eat anything! His hands especially. Also, as shown above, he is still making bubbles like a champ.

Remember how I told you...

Remember when I told you that Cash thinks Noah is the funniest person ever... here is proof.

3 month catch up...

Cash is 3 months. Well, technically he has been 3 months for about 3 weeks now. Oh well.

New things that he is doing:

Weight: chubby (We go back to the doctor in 2 weeks so we will have an official number then)

Height: longish
He pretty much holds his own head up all the time, except when he is being lazy and wants someone to hold it for him

He has found his feet and hands and is trying everything he can to get those feet in his mouth, but a small mound of chub over his midsection is preventing this from happening

He is laughing and smiling more than ever. Again, he thinks Noah is the greatest and funniest thing to ever live.

He is wearing 3-6 month clothes and some 6-9 months (geez...)

He hangs out in an exersaucer and his bumbo during the day

My mom (Nonni) got him these rice sticks that he can suck on and you would have thought she put gold in his mouth. He loves them but just can't figure out how to hold on to them yet.

He grabs and reaches for a bunch of things now ( most annoyingly is my hair. Noah thinks its funny though, so I guess as long as someone is laughing)

Still not much hair yet, although he proudly rocks the scullet in the back (if I remember I will post a pic of his old man hair-do)

Absolutely loves anything that is on tv, especially football (but he doesn't have much of a choice in this house)
He can roll from his back to his belly whenever he wants, even in the middle of the night. This is a really annoying phase because he starts on his back and then winds up on his stomach and then realize how much he doesn't want to be there and then he cries. But I think this phase is winding down because he has slept through the night for the last few nights.

Here are a few pics of his 3rd month on Earth

Please note the sock grabbing the picture... trying to eat those feet I tell 'ya.

He is just helping me cook, let's face it... I need all the help I can get.
Please pay more attention to the cute butterball of joy in the center of your picture and not as much to the raggidy looking lady to the left (with the bearclaw slippers :)

Dear baby,

Tonight we danced.

I held you in my arms and we danced throughout the entire house.

We danced to George Strait, Pat Green, Colbie Caillait, and Stevie Nicks.

I loved every minute of it.

Let's do this more often.

Love,

Mom

Halloween...

Let's just say that Halloween was a bit of a bust. I had this amazing vision in my head of how the day would play out. It went something like this...
  • Get Cash in his costume and he would love it!-False, he didn't love it.

  • Take Cash trick or treating to a few houses and he would flash everyone his adorable smile and enjoy getting lots of candy- Again, false! He flashed everyone his grumpy face and eventual crying face, which in turn, forced me to take his little behind home.

  • When we did get home, Cash would be so excited to hand out candy with his mommy- Yet again, false! He could care less and much preferred to lay naked in the middle of the floor.

Ummm... maybe next year!

Here is my little chili pepper trying to eat his costume...of course

Mommy and Cash before the crying face started
And when all else fails and decided he didn't want to be a chili pepper anymore, we changed into our back up costume...
A streaker!

I am way behind here...

I get these marvelous ideas about things to blog about and then about 2 weeks later I actually get around to writing about them. Amazing how I can get so far behind. Anyway...

My friend Megan had her baby shower for her little girl, Kyler a few weekends ago and it was just adorable. Everyone who chipped in for the shower did such a great job and did a super cute "pickles and ice cream" idea. Creative girls, I tell ya!
Megan is the only friend (so far :) that is having a girl, so I must say I got a bit carried away at the idea of shopping for a little girl. Probably best that we had a boy while I am in school, otherwise we may be filing for bankruptcy right about now...
A few pics from the shower

These are 2 of my best friends from high school, Kassie on the left and Tori on the right (the one who looks like Sandra Bullock). Tori is about 16 weeks preggo here, but I can hardly tell anything. Looks to me like maybe she just ate lunch or something, but certainly not 16 weeks pregnant!

My friend Kim also had a baby shower this past weekend for her baby boy Gavin! Silly me, I left my camera at home. But let me just tell you, the monkey themed baby shower left detail unseen. It was so adorable and the ladies hosting the shower should probably go into the business of party planning because it was so cute! Sorry for no pics Kim, I had no camera and Cash was being that baby at your shower. Don't worry though, we talked about it and he wanted me to tell you he was sorry for his little whine session.

Can't wait to meet all the new babies! So much fun to be had!

Love me some fatness...

I just love the fact that my baby boy is a chubby little thing! I call all of his rolls "sweet meat" and he just loves it when you pinch it.

Nothing better than a fat baby...
Even his feet are a little on the chubby side...

Friday, October 22, 2010

Dear Baby,

One of my most favorite things in this whole world is when you hold my fingers when I feed you. Or when you rub my skin with your soft chubby hand while I feed you.

Please don't ever stop holding my hand.

Love,
Mom

How did this happen...

I just don't understand what we did?

How in the world did we get so incredibly lucky? I mean, from what I understand Noah was a crazy kid (and I think that is putting it mildly) and of course I was an angel. Ask anyone.

But how did 2 immature, unprepared, messy, and clueless kids like this...

Make something so beautiful and perfect like this...

and this...
and this...
My answer is simply this..

I have no idea. But we obvioulsy got a little help

Tailgating fun...

Another weekend has come and gone...and the Sooners are still undefeated! I love it.

Cash tailgated again this weekend and is becoming quite the pro. He watches the game on the TV, sleeps a little, plays a little, and then it is back to watching the game. He is already such a sports nut!

Little man is getting a pregame nap in before we even leave for the game.

Family pic with Cash, again, partaking in a pregame nap...

Cash with his grandpa, who has yet to decide on his "grandpa" name. He won't go with any of my suggestions so I don't know what he is going to be called. If it were up to me he would be either Grandude or Grandbo, but nobody listens to me.

Does this kid ever wake up?

Daddy and Cash watching the game...that football may be a bit big for Cash right now

Our 'lil punkin...

I coerced Noah and Cash to a local pumpkin patch this week so we could get our first "family" of pumpkins. Everyone got a pumpkin...including Duke the dog :)
Here are the pics from our trip.
