Sad, sad news...

It brings tears to my eyes to even have to write this post. My sweet little Duke the dog is going to live in another home. He was the most perfect dog and would never hurt a fly...until this week. When Cash was a baby and just lying around on the floor, not doing much, Duke loved to come sniff him and maybe even give him a lick or two. But as Cash had gotten more mobile, Duke has gotten less friendly. The vet told me that Duke has now become threatened and jealous of Cash because they are about the same size and when Cash crawls he is eye level with Duke and this makes him jealous.

I have tried my best to keep them away from each other but this past Monday I wasn't able to keep them apart and Duke bit Cash on the face. Not a horrible bite, but it did draw blood and Cash was incredibly upset. So, I have to do what I have to do. I don't want to get rid of Duke, but I will not take an unecessary risk of it possibly happening again.
I will really miss Duke...

My sweet chubby Valentine...

Our first Valentines day together was very sweet but very brief. I didn't get home from school until around 5. I gave you your presents and it melted my heart because you got the biggest smile on your face when I handed them to you. You didn't care so much for the book, but I want you to know that is one of my favorite books to read when I was younger. The dino on the other hand... was a success. You loved "Rex" as we have so appropriately named him. You love to eat his tail and you really love when Mama pretends to be a dinosaur and roars like Rex.

I love you and I loved our first Valentine's Day together.

Love,
Mom

6 month check up...

Daddy had to take Cash to his 6 month check up last week and it just about killed me. I hate seeing Cash cry when he gets his shots, but I love to be there to comfort him right after. His stats are as follows:

Weight: 18 pounds

Height: 28 inches

Waaaaayyyy ahead in his motor skills. Doc said she rarely sees babies his age grab their bottles and put them in the mouth and hold them all by themselves. He is also mastered crawling and is standing all the time and holding on to things and walking alongside them.

Takes big boy baths and splashes water everywhere. I don't so much mind right now because it is cute and funny but there will come a time when Cash will get "the look", I'm sure.

No teeth yet, but he is really getting some hair. Sometimes it looks brown. Sometimes it looks blonde. Sometimes it has a shade of red.

Apparently, Noah and I were starving Cash. He started waking up in the middle of the night screaming and it turns out the poor kid was starving. The dr told us to feed him 3-4 times a day of baby food. Oops.. sorry buddy!

So, you now eat all the time. You love fruit! Any flavor, it really doesn't matter. You don't mind veggies too much but you are not the biggest fan of peas still.

Love watching you grow little buddy! You are a pretty cool kid!

Love,

Mom

A look back at how we got here...

I just thought it would be fun to take a look back and how this whole baby thing came to be. Don't worry, I'm not going to share any graphic details or pics. Geez, get your minds out of the gutter...

I'm thinking this may have been the night that started it all off. That's all I'm going to say about that.

This was the very first bump pic...

We moved into our new house...

The first concert Cash "attended", George Strait and Reba...

We celebrated our first wedding anniversary and Noah's 27th birthday...

My fabulous friends at school threw me a baby shower... man, I look tired...

This is my bump the day before we checked into the hospital...

The last night before Noah and I became parents...

Shopping for a boy...

It's hard. I mean it's not like physically and emotionally hard or anything. But when you walk into a store and the left 85% of it is devoted to heavenly dresses and leggings and the tiniest little baby bikinis and the right 15% is left for the little dudes section, it becomes a challenge to find boy stuff. Let's face it. Boy stuff is just hard to finagle anyway. Nursery themes, names, clothes and so on...
I'm pretty sure Cash doesn't' care too much that he doesn't have equal rights in the clothing section of stores, but his mama cares (a little). So I have taken to the Internet to find my boy some clothes.
Here are a few little things that I have seen online that are just too cute for my little man.

These adorable sweaters and super-fly linen coat are from Children's Place and guess what...they are on sale!

These swim trunks are from Children's Place too! Too cute.

Linen shirts for the summer? Yes, please! Again, from Children's Place.

And these two little get-ups are from Baby Gap. If I weren't on a spending freeze my little man would already have all of these clothes.
And last but not least.... my absolute favorite brand of clothing. Axel and Hudson! They make pint size golf apparel that I am positive Cash will wear to the golf course when he is a little bit older. You just have to google Axel and Hudson to find all kinds of clothes. No particular one store to buy them from. Without further adieu...

I mean, come on! Can you not just imagine Cash money in these outfits out on the golf course with his daddy?? Or just walking around town for that matter. The hats...shirts...pants...onesies...oh my! They carry all of these cute outfits in a wide range of sizes.
Until next time! I am just going to go drool over how freaking cute all of this is.
Love,
E
P.S.
Don't get it twisted, I do a bulk of my shopping at second-hand stores! But everyone once in a while it is kinda nice to splurge :)
