We have done great friends who open up their house to us in the summer. We use their pool. Pet their dogs. Fish in their pond. And roam around on their acreage.
And we take full advantage. When we moved, we bought a lot that was almost 2 acres. A good size, if you ask me. But there is just something that you learn and appreciate when you can spend time in the great outdoors. You learn something about yourself and everyone around you. You get lost in the moment of being outside. You get lost in your own thoughts and dare to be a bit more wild.
I think that is a lesson that is hard to teach kiddos from the confinds of the 4 walls of a house...
