Dear babies...

Every parent thinks that their kids are the cutest. And the smartest. And the funniest. And the most talented.

I am not one of those parents. My child is not the smartest in his class...yet. And they are not the most talented at everything they do.

But man, they are both really funny. They have so much personality and pizzaz in them. They are brutally honest and incredibly ornery. They are sassy and disobedient. They are helpful and loving. They are a mess. A beautiful mess. And they are our mess.

Cash,

You are turning into a very sweet young boy who is constantly questioning everything. You are one of the most complimentary kids I have ever met. You really care about peoples feelings and you don't want people to be mad at you. You are also becoming quite mouthy. You are impulsive and quick tempered. You do not like to be told "no" and have not grown out of throwing fits yet. You get scared in the dark and like to be told stories about when mommy and daddy got married. You are worried that you won't get married and you are very bashful and shy around girls. Your voice reaches a completely different octave that only dogs can hear when you are talking to girls. You are funny and social and loving and obsessed with sports.

I love you and your flaws. I love you and your heart. I love you.

Presley Mae,

You are so funny. You are very loving and like to cuddle. You like to wrestle with daddy and bubba. You are starting to back talk and tell people "no". You are a very girly tom boy who loves to dress up and loves to play catch. You would rather be outside than inside but you like to watch girly Disney movies. You are obsessed with reading books and trying to go potty in the big girl potty. You are trying to be more independent and love to say "I do it myself". You are sweet to me and mean to daddy and bubba.

I love you and your sass. I love you and your smile. I love you.

First family OU football game...

There is a first time for everything. And this just so happened to be our first home OU football game with both children. That's right. I said both children. And they both did really well. They loved the noise and excitement. They loved watching Boomer and Sooner. They loved screaming and cheering for our team.

Presley made it to the third quarter and then she had enough. She slept through all of the yelling, screaming and clapping. Cash made it the whole game and absolutely loved it. He is becoming quite the football fan these days.

I look forward to many more family football games in our future...

A girly tomboy...

There is nothing wrong with a little girl who knows what she likes.

And Presley Mae is just that girl...

Just a little cookin' in the kitchen...

Whatever happened to the days of wearing high heels and an apron to cook dinner?

Whatever happened to making dinner in style?

Maybe I will slowly bring that fad back...

Just like daddy...

Being a little boy is magical. Simply magical. A little boy thinks their daddy is the strongest person in the world. A little boy thinks their daddy is the funniest person in the works. A little boy thinks their daddy coolest person in the world. A little boy thinks their daddy does no wrong.

And I think a little boy can sometimes learn the biggest lessons from their daddy.

In a perfect world, a daddy would never make a mistake. He would never say anything negative in front of his son. He would never lose his temper in front of his son. He would never exemplify anything other than the picture perfect daddy.

But that is not real life. And a daddy is going to make a mistake. As a matter of fact, he will make multiple mistakes.

But I think some of the most wonderful lessons can be learned from the mind and heart of a humbled daddy. A daddy who knows he has done wrong and is able to admit it. A daddy who isn't afraid to say "I'm sorry, I made a mistake". A daddy who knows he isn't perfect, and makes that know to his idolizing son.

Oh yes, a daddy is the strongest man in the world. The funniest man in the world. The coolest man in the world.

But he is still a daddy. But, fortunately for you Cash, he's your daddy.

Some days...

Some days you just have to be superheroes.

And when asked if you want to be one too, say yes. Always say yes...
