A trip to the zoo...

With the weather reaching the high 60's in January, how could we not take advantage and make a trip to the zoo?? Cash loved it, as usual. And Presley Mae got her first chance to really be outside for any long period of time. Being born in December ensures that she doesn't get much time outside. Poor girl. But she loved it and was awake for a good portion of the trip. Most of the animals were eyeing her like she was a small snack...

All in all, fun fantastic day with family,

What are grandparents for...

Why else do you go to Grand-dudes house but to make cookies...and lick the bowl...and the spoon...and your fingers...and then eat the cookies.

My little Larry Bird...

Some of you may not know Larry Bird, and that is a crying shame! But for those of you who do, you may remember a little behind the backboard shot he made some years ago. Well, Cash has attempted to be "Airy Bird". He may be on to something here...

By the way, this was his second time to make that shot. I'm just sayin....

Presley Mae

So far, little sister, you are a very good baby. I take that back. You are a great baby. Easy going and very much a "go with the flow" type kiddo. You are still sleeping 5-7 hours a night for me and eating about 4 ounces every 3-4 hours. You are most certainly "thickening" up. (I won't be able to say that to you when you are older, so I will take advantage of it now.) You are staying awake during the day more, but still really like your sleep.

Here are some pics from the last few weeks...

Keep on keeping on little lady.

Mom

Cash Ryan...

You are full of life my sweet boy. You go, go, go at the same Mach 10 speed all day and then crash at night. You are such a sweet boy (when you want to be) and love your mommy. You are adjusting pretty well to Presley and get really concerned when she cries. You give her 1000 kisses a day and get this really high, squeakiness to your voice when you talk to her. You give her the pacifier when asked and you get so proud when she takes it. Here are some more of the things you are up to:

You are obsessed with The Sandlot. OBSESSED! You made me cut the cover off of a ball so that you could be like Benny in the movie when he "knocks the cover off the ball". It is funny and a bit annoying. But, I see how happy it makes you so I endure the constant Sandlot quotes and multiply showings per day.

You really like the movie Space Jam and think you are Michael Jordan. You are pretty good at basketball, but not quite Michael Jordan. Yet...

You get so excited to go to your school and talk about and pray for your friends and teachers every night.

You are really funny and love taking bubble baths.

You love being outside and I know you can't wait for spring and summer so that you can play baseball and football outside instead of in the living room.

You are trying to get the hand of potty training, but not quite there yet. Still a work in progress, but you like to wear your big boy "undies".

You love to sing any song. Even if you don't know the words. You sing lots of songs and you play a mean air guitar.

You love church! LOVE IT!

You are a happy kid who is well-behaved (for the most part) and is learning the ropes of co-existing with your sissy.

Love,
Mom

This post is way past due, but better late than never. Here are a few pics from Cash's 2nd birthday party and the YMCA. It was a "Oh Twodooles" Mickey Mouse theme.

I am pretty sure he had a good time.

Christmas 2012...

We had a few things going on around here this Christmas. We had a little addition to our family, which took up a bit of our time. In a good way. We kept Christmas very small and simple this year, which may continue to be the theme for years to come. We had Noah's family in town before Christmas to see Presley and give the kids their presents. On Christmas Eve we went to my parents house and opened presents and had dinner. Cash, of course, got plenty of toys and Presley slept the whole time. As expected.

Daddy and his little girl...

Daddy and his babies...

Scratching off our annual lottery tickets...

She woke up for about 10 minutes of Christmas...

When we got home, the kids opened their Christmas Eve pajamas together...

Brotherly and sisterly love...

We had to make sure Santa had milk and cookies...

Cash had a very small Christmas this year. We have decided to give our kids 3 presents on Christmas morning because the 3 wise men brought Jesus 3 gifts. It is also a good way to make sure we don't go overboard and forget the true meaning of Christmas...

Cash doesn't care how many presents he gets, as long as there is something under that tree. This year he got Lincoln Logs, a new Boomer pillow, and a package of Oreos. Random, I know. But that is all he asked for from Santa for the entire month of December...

And with the white Christmas we had, he had to get out and explore. He was bundled up tighter than the little boy on "A Christmas Story"...

And you can bet that if Daddy is outside with you there will be a golf club involved...

Throwing snowballs at mommy. Of course that was Daddy's idea...

All in all it was a fabulous Christmas with fabulous family.

Week 3...

We have survived another week. That's always a positive. Everything is moving right along and our little family has not missed a beat. We still go and do and see as we want. Presley is a great baby who really loves her sleep. She is still sleeping 5 hours at a time at night and is very content with just being. She is a mellow baby and this mommy hopes that stays the case as she gets older. (Because if I have 2 of her big bro's, I would never sit down or stop playing basketball, baseball, or football.)

Cash is still adjusting to having a baby around. For the most part, he likes her. He is rough with her and has hit her. He even got things confused and thought she was a WWF wrestler and decided to head-butt her. But he is adjusting. However slowly that may be. He does try to be helpful and feed her and give her a pacifier. He gives her about 1000 kisses a day and gets kind of uneasy when she cries. He listens to what Noah and I say to her when she cries because he has started repeating, "I know sis, I know" whenever she starts to cry. It is pretty cute and funny to see him interact with her.

Loving our little family right now.
