23 weeks...

Just a few bump pics to update. I am 23 weeks today and little man and I are doing good. I think we have decided on a name but we are going to think about it for a few more days before we officially name him! After the trip to Houston, I think my belly exploded! It got much larger in a matter of 2 days. I have taken to leggings because they are super comfortable. No maternity clothes yet, I think I am enjoying the challenge of finding creative ways of using all of my pre-pregnancy clothes. You can probably see my belly button from the pic below rearing it's little head. Still not ready to show the full "frontal" of the button yet :)On a much different note! Duke men's basketball team are going to the Final Four!!!! This next part is for our son:
Hey kid, Just so you know you are being born into a family who are huge Duke fans. I think you will be able to tell from the attire your daddy wore for the game tonight! And yes, your eyes are not deceiving you, that is a Duke pacifier that your daddy has in his mouth. We bought that for you so you would be ready for basketball season next year! (Don't worry, I will sanitize that pacifier before you use it.)

And as I write this, my Sooners just beat Notre Dame! They are going to the Elite Eight! So proud of those girls. Good luck to both of my teams!

I won't let you win...

Dear pregnancy,

Over the past three days you have been the major culprit in me not feeling well. I am not sick or ill, but I feel like you are causing my body to turn on me. I have felt lethargic, unproductive, uncoordinated and unattractive. Not to mention whenI rolled my ankle the other day while running, which was quite embarrassing considering there was about 20 people around that were staring at me like I was drunk. Oh yeah, and who can forget the very intense pain that I feel in my foot every time I take a step? This must stop. I will not allow you to make me feel this way anymore. I am taking back control over my body and my feelings! So there! Thank you for treating me so well over the first 21 weeks of pregnancy and I would really appreciate it if that pregnancy would kindly return!

Erin

Dear baby boy,

In a matter of moments you went from being our little baby to our baby boy! I cannot tell you how excited and proud we are to be your parents! Now that we know that you are a boy, I couldn't imagine it any other way. You are going to take us on so many adventures! We can't wait to see what you have in store for us as you grow into a young man. It makes me so happy (and a bit scared) to know that I will raising a son that might possibly take after your daddy!

I still am having a hard time coming to terms that I am going to be your mom! I mean, it is becoming more real to me that you are a growing little baby boy inside my belly. I can feel you more and more and your kicks are getting stronger, but I am not sure it has set in that eventually you will be be born and that we are actually going to have to take care of you. It is exciting to think about, but scary and intimidating at the same time.

We love you and are getting closer to your name, I promise!
Your mom and dad

Drumroll please.....

This weekend we traveled to the great state of Texas for the unveiling of our little Allen banana. We decided to do the cake cutting on Saturday night so we could take a tour of NASA in the morning and get pedicures in the afternoon (much needed on my part), while the boys played golf. We decided to keep it low key and grill burgers for dinner and eat outside at Noah's parents house. Then it was time to cut the cake.
A woman named Mrs. Joy made a cake for us with little blue and pink question marks on it and one large question mark in the middle that she made with pink and blue fondant mixed. Noah took one knife and I took another and we met in the middle of the cake. It is crazy the uncertainty that went through my mind right before we made the cut. We cut into the cake and low and behold.....it was blue! That's right, a little boy.

Of course, Noah was thrilled! I love this picture of his reaction when we saw the blue cake.

We couldn't be happier to be having a little dude. We have some names that we have been throwing around since we found out we were expecting but have not settled on one yet.
This last picture is of me and my sister-in-law Angie! She is expecting her 3rd boy in August, so family get-togethers should be so much fun with all of these boys running around. We are just showing off our bumps!

20 weeks down...

Well here we are, 20 weeks later! Man, time has flown by. I have exactly zero accomplished in preparation for this little baby, but that will hopefully change after this weekend! I am getting really excited to find out what we are having so that I can finally start buying things and feeling somewhat prepared. Noah and I have talked about what we think the baby is but neither one of us has a clue or a feeling about it. This picture was taken by the wonderfully talented photographer, Noah. He is now booking photo shoots if anyone is interested! Yeah right! (But please keep in mind that this picture is following a big bowl of chili and a few cookies:) I didn't do a frontal pic because I don't think I am ready to show off my uncooperative belly button just yet. As previously mentioned in another post, it is not an outie yet but it is slowly making it that way!

The results are in...

And we are having an.....envelope? Yep, we had our appointment on Wednesday and the Dr said that she could see the parts she needed to see! She wrote down "the results" on a piece of paper and printed a few pics with the baby's "parts" and sealed it in an envelope. So, technically we could know what we are having right now, but we are going to mail the envelope to the nice woman who is making our cake. Don't get me wrong, I have been a bit tempted to open it since it has been sitting on my counter and staring me in the face but I like the idea of waiting to find out with family and friends!

On another note, the baby is looking great and she has no complaints about the way it is developing! I couldn't be happier to hear it! The baby has it's fingers and toes and stomach and kidneys and a heart with four chambers and "parts" of course. Here is a pic of the baby that the Dr. gave us. Who do you think it looks like???? I am not quite sure yet.

In one week we will stop calling our lil baby and it and finally reveal a name! Can't wait.

What is going on here...

So I have recently been getting a bigger and bigger bump. Nothing too big, but definitly more noticable to me and Noah. On Saturday I noticed something that caught me completely off gaurd. My belly button is starting to head in the WRONG direction! It is not a complete outie, but it is for sure not the innie it used to be. That is one thing that I never really thought about before becoming pregnant (another is giving up raw cookie dough, which I absolutely love). I have already googled that my belly button should go back into it's normal place once I have the baby, but I have to say I am a bit upset that my belly button has foresaken me. I used to think it was so cute on all the pregnant mommy's I saw (and to be quite honest, it still is) but it is a little different when the change is taking place on my body.

I can only imagine what other alterations my body has in store for me over the next 4 months :)
